 Crescent City Con Game Report:

August 5-7, 2005

Igor

Jesse from little Rock, Ak introduced me to the game.  I played a three player game with him and another conventioneer.  I didn't win the game but enjoyed it enough to want one.  I will have to order Igor soon.

Shadows Over Camelot

Six knights set out on this adventure.  We didn't know who was a traitor among us or even if there was a traitor.  We completed the Excalibur Quest first and had a good start on the Grail Quest.  Unfortunately, we lost the Black Knight Quest but finally complete the Grail Quest.  Siege engines were coming out fast so we left some knights at Camelot with the help of Excalibur to defeat them.  The rest of the knights fought the Pics and Saxon's quest until we won.  There was no traitor in this game.

Ticket to Ride

 Players: Mike, Jesse and David

This game was new to David.  He didn't catch on to the strategy right away.  David drew extra tickets but didn't complete all his routes.  I completed 5 routes but they were all short runs.  Jesse managed to win big by going for long routes and getting the longest rail road.

Category 5

Players:  Mike, Ronnie, Cynthia, Jesse and David

David and Cynthia had paid this with me before it was new to the other players.  Here are the scores by round:

Player               1                      2                      3                    Final

Mike                9                      23                      38                      51

Ronnie              2                       13                    34                      48

Cynthia            13                      43                     54                      82

Jesse                20                     27                      35                      48

David               17                     23                      28                      29

Aquarius

I was introduced to this game by Jesse.  I enjoyed playing it with him (even though I lost) so I picked up a copy at the convention.

Carcassonne

I played several sessions of Carcassonne at the convention.  It came in handy while waiting for enough people to start a larger game.

Lunch Money

I came in second in the lunch time Lunch Money tournament.  Not bad for my first playing of the game.  I was confused while playing the game because even the experience players disagreed on some of the rules.

Oden's Ravens

I played several games of Oden's Ravens when I only had one opponent.

Talisman Pictures

I didn't have an opportunity to play Talisman on the board pictured below but I thought it looked great.
