Players: Ann, Mikey, Bob, Don, Dorie

I had been looking at this game for a while and contemplated buying it.  When it went on sale for half price I couldn't resist any longer.  The object of the game is to collect gems while canoeing down the river and to avoid going over the falls. You can win by getting four gems that are the same color or five different colored gems or seven of any gems.  I taught the game to five new players before heading off for a Vegas Showdown.

Mikey seemed to be winning early in the game until he lost a canoe to the falls.  Ann also lost a canoe over the falls.  Bob finally collected enough gems to win the game.

Vegas Showdown

Five millionaires gathered to create the best hotel/casino complex in Vegas: : Michael, Karl, Hilda, Brenda, Scott

I started off with an early lead in fame by building a night club.  Hilda seemed to have the most money throughout the game.  Brenda bought a High Rollers room early in the game but was unable to place it.  Scott was getting some good premium rooms but didn't fill his casino or hotel.  

I was able to fill my hotel section but not my casino.  I didn't have may premium rooms but did connect my hotel with my casino.  In the end Scott beat me by a small margin due to a superior layout.  

One interesting note on the game.  Every tile was flipped over. All the basic tiles were sold making this a long game.

    Players: Don, Dorie, Ann, Bob

Ann and Mikey helped teach this game while I was involved in Vegas Showdown.  Notes were not taken but Don edged out Ann for a win 70 to 68.
