Gaming report - May 2, 2006                            Back to New Orleans Gamers Home Page

Nine Guest were in attendance and five games were played.

Roll Call: Ann, Michael, Leo, Ron, Cindy, Karl, Hilda, Don and Dorie.

Cloud Nine

Players: Mike, Ann, Don, Dorie and Leo.

This game has become our filler of choice.  We played this while waiting for all the guest to arrive.

Leo was the best balloon piolet scoring 51 points.  Ann and I came in second with 38 points each Don finished next with 334 points and Dorie had 21 points.

Can't Stop

Players: Ann, Dorie and Cindy

There was no session report for this game but Ann reported that she  barely won.

Hoidy Toidy

Players: Mike, Leo, Hilda, Karl, Don, Ronnie

This was the first time I played this game with six people.  The only other time we played was with three.  I find Hoidy Toidy plays much better with six.   It took a few rounds for the five new players to get the hang of this game but everyone enjoyed it.

Ronnie (purple) had a slow start in game.  I (green) stayed in the lead most of the game but was challenged by Leo (red) near the end.  Ronnie finally discovered a good strategy and moved 10 spaces in only two turns.  Alas it was too late in the game for him to win.

Final Standings: 1st - Michael, 2nd - Leo, 3rd Hilda, Karl & Don (tied) Last Ronnie.

Pickamino

Players Ann, Dorie and Cindy

Again we have no notes for this game but Dorie did win.

Und Tschuss!

Players: Mike, Leo, Ron, Cindy, Karl and Hilda

As players were ready to leave I suggested this short filler.  In this game five scoring cards are split between the six players.  Someone walks away empty handed.  In one round Cindy and I were shooting for the high score.  We both held back our highest card until we were tie at the end.  Fortunately for me my card was a 15 and she had a 14.

Final Scores: Mike - 24, Hilda - 21, Leo - 16, Karl - 18, Ronny - 30 and Cindy - 16

Relationship Tight Rope

Players: Mike, Chris, Karl and Hilda

Only four of us remained so we decide to play a "balanced" game.  Ann seemed to be doing good as she only scored 1 in the first round.  Ann, however lost the second round adding 11 more points to her score.  The third round was a winner for me adding zero to my score and allowing me to wipe out the 10 points I scored in the first round.  I put icing on the cake by scoring another zero in the last round giving me a perfect score.  A first for me in this game.

Final scores: Mike - 0 Ann - 27, Karl - 37, Hilda - 45
